New extortion campaign threatens to install WannaCry ransomware and demands 2 bitcoins

What is the issue - A new extortion email campaign is going rounds that states your computer network has been hacked and it has been found out that you are hiding your taxes from tax authorities.

Why it matters - In this extortion campaign, scammers threaten to do the following,

• Release all the tax-related documents to the tax department
• Lock the operating system
• DDoS the network, and
• Install WannaCry ransomware.

What is the demand - In order to avoid the tax documents from being submitted to the tax department, DDos and WannaCry attack, these scammers demand two bitcoins within 7 days.
