Verint Profiles Security Intelligence Solutions Secures Safe City of the Future

At ISC West, Verint to Showcase Solutions That Help Ensure Safety at One of the Largest Safe City Deployments in the World.

MELVILLE, N.Y. & LAS VEGAS-- --Verint® Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: VRNT) today announced that it will demonstrate the capabilities of its comprehensive Situational Intelligence system, designed to manage safe city deployments of the future, at this week’s ISC West Conference April 5-7 in Las Vegas. The mission-critical technology infrastructure, which is currently deployed as the centralized situational awareness system at the heart of one of the largest safe city deployments in the world, is designed to strengthen community safety and streamline operations, such as traffic management.

The Verint Situational Awareness Platform™ provides stakeholders with a unified view of all aspects of the security environment, including processes, technologies, sensors and procedures to help improve response and situation analysis. The open and scalable technology platform helps maximize real-time event analysis, as well as post-event investigation, evidence-gathering and incident reconstruction. Response time and effectiveness is improved through the implementation of powerful automation and Standard Operating Procedures, while reports and dashboards enable proactive planning by driving coordination across agencies—a critical capability in large cities where multiple stakeholders seek immediate access to data in an emergency situation.

This Verint solution—with a highly scalable architecture designed to support input from thousands of cameras and tens of thousands events per day—is currently in place in one of the world’s largest safe city deployments, where it leverages two separate geographic disaster recovery sites. The design, which is based on geo-replication, helps ensure all video and data is replicated at all times.

Additionally, operators can gather useful intelligence from the vast amount of video and security data collected daily from thousands of sensors with Verint Situational Awareness Platform. The comprehensive, unified software solution serves as the clearinghouse for security and operational data, which is then analyzed to deliver actionable intelligence. It combines information from numerous sources—including video surveillance, license plate recognition, business systems, vehicle information (including plate number and vehicle details), operator details (including driving record), video analytics, access control, weather analysis, and more—to increase operational efficiencies and responsiveness, and promote timely, relevant and accurate assessments.

At ISC West, attendees can experience how Verint’s security management and situational awareness platform help support intelligent decision-making in safe city environments. In addition, they can experience the value of this fully redundant and resilient system in action and hear about how it’s being used in real-world applications across the globe.

“Verint is committed to being a trusted partner for our customers as they work to ensure the safety of residents, visitors and businesses, and we are pleased to demonstrate the infrastructure leveraged in one of the world’s largest safe city deployments during ISC West,” says Steve Weller, senior vice president and general manager, Verint. “Our solutions help security operators maximize data analysis both in real-time and forensically, increase situational awareness, and proactively mitigate risk while driving multi-agency coordination.”

During this week’s conference, attendees also will have the opportunity to learn how data derived from web and social media helps build intelligence. On April 5, from 12:30-1:30 pm PDT, Verint will lead a discussion titled “The Growing Need for Web and Social Media Intelligence to Analyze and Accelerate Security. This panel will take a broad look at the increasingly important role that web- and mobile-based information plays in today’s security landscape. It will include real use cases and best practices from industry and law enforcement experts including Joe Fowler, cyber agent with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation; Darren McLeod, Chief Marketing Officer of LifeRaft; and Eran Wachman, vice president at Verint.
