From Reactive to Proactive: Operationalizing Threat Intel

Beyond enterprise organizations, being able to operationalize threat intelligence tends to feel out of reach due to constraints on resources, team availability, processes, and budget. This means that most mid-sized security teams are left with a tactical approach to threat intelligence, typically ingesting raw data from feeds, ISACs, and other free sources, which are then used as a reactive measure to tighten security. Regardless of these shortcomings, most organizations strive to be in a proactive state that allows security teams to both operationalize intelligence and eventually develop a mature process that leads to a strategic approach.
