BidenCash: A New Credit Card Trading Platform Selling Data for 15 Cents
BidenCash, a new carding site, is attempting to come into limelight by leaking credit card information as well as information on its owners, for as little as $0.15.

BidenCash - Modus Operandi

Recently, a CSV file was leaked from the BidenCash website containing customers' names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, and credit card numbers were all included in the file for free.
  • The website has a filtering feature that allows threat actors to identify stolen cards suited for their campaigns.
  • The feature helps criminals search for specific countries, banks, or entries that have the information they require, such as CVV, email, address, card type, or cardholder name.

As concluded by expert, BidenCash released the information to promote its platform and gain attention of the cybercriminal groups globally.

The number crunch

According to an Italian cybersecurity firm, the database contains approximately 6,600 credit cards in addition to approximately 1,300 new and genuine credit cards.
  • The majority of these cards are issued by VISA and belong to individuals based in the United States.
  • Over three million unique email addresses are also a part of the list, which could be used for phishing and account hijacking.

What’s in it for cybercriminals?

  • Cybercriminals frequently use stolen cards to pay for genuine services for their operations.
  • The information exchanged on these sites is acquired in a variety of ways like installing web skimmers on online stores to steal payment information from users.

How to stay safe?

Cardholders must pay attention to charges made to their accounts and report any unusual activity to their bank.
Wherever possible, cardholders should add additional safeguards such as confirming specific purchases or setting up charging limitations.
Use virtual cards (offered by some banks) that users may simply revoke or single-use cards that are automatically erased after a single purchase.
Protect your e-banking account with MFA and set up notifications and alerts for important actions.
