ResiDex Software suffered a ransomware attack impacting its IT systems and server infrastructure.
What happened?
On April 9, 2019, ResiDex became aware of the ransomware attack which led to the shut down of its systems. The software company immediately launched an investigation and found out that authorized access to ResiDex’s systems occurred on April 2, 2019, and the ransomware was launched on April 9, 2019.

The investigation did not identify any personal information and/or protected health information being compromised. However, unauthorized access to ResiDex’s software might have resulted in the potential compromise of personal information including names, social security numbers and protected health information including medical records that existed in the software.
The software company also notified all the potentially impacted individuals about the incident.
“ResiDex and the Facilities understand the importance of protecting the protected health information and personal information maintained on its systems and deeply regrets any concern that this may have caused the potentially impacted individuals,” ResiDex said, DataBreaches.net reported.
