The websites of major Israeli news outlet Maariv, sister publication of The Jerusalem Post, were taken offline on Wednesday. The Anonymous Sudan group also managed to take down the website of the Israel Ports Authority and the Meretz political party.

Among the websites affected were Tel Aviv University, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Haifa University, Weizmann Institute of Science, Open University of Israel, and Reichman University.

The hacker group "Black Shadow" has leaked data from various Israeli companies, such as LGBTQ dating app "Atraf", Dan bus company, and tour booking company Pegasus on Saturday night.

A cybercriminal claimed to have stolen the personal information of around seven million Israelis, approximately 80% of Israel's population, by hacking into the City4U website used by municipalities.
